Hi, my name is Caleb Zwanzig. I am an artist currently working in the Denver area. I have my Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Azusa Pacific University, and I hope to attend graduate school in the next few years.

I gain most of my inspiration from pouring over old maps, as well as reading biographies and other historical accounts about the exploration of the American West by European settlers. My hope is for us to learn something about who we are by where we've been and where we are going. I hope you enjoy the work. Thank you.

Statement: In my architectural based work, I show the problematic psychology behind a thought process, which deems it necessary to inhabit all so-called beautiful places. We scheme and vie for control over lands because of their pristine beauty, but after a short period of time, that original mental image is obscured by plans to develop that land. My process involves making decisions as to what sites I think most people would find desirable, however my primary concerns are the reasons why we connect an appealing location with the immediate prospect of building rather than making broad claims about what should define a place as attractive.
