Hi, my name is Caleb Zwanzig. I am an artist currently working in the Denver area. I have my Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Azusa Pacific University, and I hope to attend graduate school in the next few years.

I gain most of my inspiration from pouring over old maps, as well as reading biographies and other historical accounts about the exploration of the American West by European settlers. My hope is for us to learn something about who we are by where we've been and where we are going. I hope you enjoy the work. Thank you.

These are the final pieces in a series of drawings. I’m still playing around with layout as well as the possibility of cutting out portions of negative space between the lines. I started making these drawings about 6 months ago when I became fascinated with the land and how nature acts on the land to shape it (wind, rain, earthquakes, fires, etc), and what that creates topographically. As an artist, I’m concerned with the final result in terms of composition. With these, I tried to concentrate on individual line making instead of what the finished product would look like. This process was very therapeutic and meditative and has become a spring-board for projects to come. These pieces gave me an opportunity to step back, relax, and get a little perspective on what I want to do with my future work. Enjoy.
